Edwin F. Atkins, Esq., of Boston, has established a new fellowship of $1500 for the present year, to further the study of certain unfamiliar plants that may become useful in commerce. The holder of the fellowship, E.M. Wilcox, Ph.D. '99, is now engaged in research work in the East Indies. Of the $1500 given by Mr. Atkins, $500 will be used for the publication of the results of this investigation.
The eight Austin teaching fellowships, founded last summer under the will of the late Edward Austin, are held this year by eight instructors and assistants in the University. The value of each fellowship is $500.
