Cross Country Run.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A cross country run was substituted for the hare and hound run yesterday afternoon, prizes being offered for the first four men to finish. The men started from the Locker Building at 4 o'clock, went up Mt. Auburn street to Mt. Auburn cemetery, crossed the cemetery, and then came home by the Speedway, covering a distance in all of about five miles. There were thirty-five men in the squad. The first four men were not very close together at the finish, but following them a number of the men were well bunched. J. G. Willis '02 and John Graham timed the men, and judged them at the finish.

The order in which the first four men finished is as follows: W. A. Colwell 1G., first, time--27 minutes and 12 seconds; W. W. Gallagher '04, second, time--27 minutes and 20 seconds; J H Hall '03, third, time--27 minutes and 30 seconds; W. A. Pownall '02, fourth, time--27 minutes and 50 seconds.
