The Freshman debate last night was decided in favor of the negative taken by W. McC. Lloyd and H. B. Horwitz.
F. O. White of the University Debating Club, criticised the speaking and W. T. Foster of the interclass debating committee, explained the committee's relation with the class clubs. The following permanent officers were elected: President, A. E. Lunt; vice-president, C. H. Derby; secretary, R. Abercrombie; treasurer, H. S. Saint Gaudens; executive committee, the president, the secretary ex-officis and G. W. South.
The subject for the next debate will be: "Resolved, That Great Britain's policy in South Africa is justifiable."
