In the preliminary round of the intercollegiate tennis tournament at New Haven yesterday morning, Davis of Harvard defeated Alexander of Princeton, 6-3, 6-0; and Hackett of Yale defeated Ogden of Princeton, 8-6, 6-2.
The remaining matches to be played off in the preliminary round are: Allen of Yale vs. Marvin of Harvard; Plummer of Yale vs. Little of Princeton; Ward of Princeton vs. Hackett of Yale.
The teams entered for the doubles are: Little and Alexander of Princeton, Allen and Hackett of Yale, Ward and Davis of Harvard, Marvin and Thomas of Harvard.
