The opening games of the interclass football series between 1900-1901 and 1902-1903 will be played a week from next Tuesday. The final game between the two teams winning these preliminary contests will be played on November 3, the day before the Pennsylvania game.
The Senior and Junior elevens are about equal in strength. Both have a fairly effective interference and as a rule play aggressively. Their chief fault seems to be carelessness, which shows itself frequently in fumbling and offside play. The Freshmen have improved very rapidly of late, and ought to give a good account of themselves. The Sophomore team is composed wholly of new material, and is consequently weak.
The candidates for the Senior team are: Centres--H. B. Moore, M. Fabyan; guards -- R. Heath, T. M. Shaw, E. E. Wheeler, J. D. Crane; tackles--W. M. Chadbourne, S. W. Lewis, A. Davis, W. L. Collins; ends -- E. Heard, E. H. George, A. Sturgis, L. Beardsell; quarterbacks--C. Hatch, M. Lowery, A. F. Gotthold; backs--E. W. Howard, C. M. Brown, R. Livermore, E. Cook, E. C. Carter, H. D.
