A meeting of the committee organized to raise money for the Lowell Park on Brattle street, was held Monday night. The treasurer announced that more than the requisite $35,000 had already been received. June first was the final date for sending contributions, but there is still need for more, as it is important to buy another piece of land in order to preserve one of the finest oak trees on the estate, and to put up some kind of stone memorial. A committee, of which President Eliot is one, was appointed to turn over to the Cambridge Park Commissioners the land already bought.
