A. W. Davis, captain of the '98 nine, has accepted the challenge of Yale '98 for a ball game this spring, and with the sanction of the athletic committee has recommended May 26 as a date when Holmes Field can be obtained for the game.
It will be remembered that owing to the faculty restriction '98 did not play the Yale freshmen at baseball in their freshman year, while they met them at football and rowing, winning one and losing the other, both after the closest kind of a contest. Therefore a ball game with Yale '98 will be of special interest.
'Varsity nine men will not be allowed on either team, but the '98 members of the College nine will be eligible to play for Harvard, and the probable make-up of the team will be as follows: Cozzens, p.; Brown, c.; Davis, 1b.; Vincent, 2b.; Holt, s. s.; McVey, 3b.; Manning, l.f.; Edmunds, c.f.; Foster, r.f. Abbott and Sterling will probably be the substitutes.
