The College nine shut out the West Point Cadets at West Point Saturday. The weather was rainy and cold but in spite of the wet grounds and slippery ball, the Harvard team put up a sharp fielding game and batted better than usual. Gregory pitched a fine game. He allowed only two hits and gave only one base on balls. His support was nearly perfect. Sears, in left field, made several difficult catches.
For West Point, Cowan, at third, played the best game. Craig was batted out of the box and was replaced in the sixth inning by Mumma, who proved somewhat more effective.
Following is the score:
Harvard, 0 2 3 1 4 0 2 2 0-14
Errors, Harvard 3, West Point 9. Hits, Harvard 17, West Point 2.
