Only three matches were played yesterday afternoon in the tennis tournament, and the playing for the most part was rather poor. Ward, however, showed some good tennis in his match with Coues, and had no difficulty in defeating him. The summary follows:

H. M. Hall '99 beat J. Lawton '99 by default.

H. Ward 1900 beat R. W. Coues Gr., 6-3, 6-2.

J. F. Brice '99 beat F. L. Waldo '98, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2.

C. G. Stevens sS. beat S. P. Shaw '99 by default.
