Following is an individual criticism of the Sophomore crew, as far as their work now shows:

Marvin (stroke) has a tendency to hang at the full reach.

McDuffie (7) has his oar too high off the water and has a tendency to drop over at the full reach; and is slow on the shoot.

Swift (6) has a tendency to hang at the full reach, swings around his oar and does not get his power on quickly enough.

Whitbeck (5) does not get his shoulders on quickly enough at the catch.

Donald (4) does not reach out far enough, faces his oar over too far; is slow on the shoot and is apt to catch late.

Adams (3) is late getting his oar in the water; lugs at the finish and is slow on the shoot.

Richardson (2) has his oar too high off the water, catches late, does not get his power on quick enough, and has a tendency to rush his slide.

Dibblee (bow) has a tendency to drop over at the full reach, swings back too far and feathers under water.

Substitutes:

Farley has his oar too high off the water at full reach, is slow at the catch and shortens.

Duffield rushes his slide, does not take his feather off quickly enough and falls away from the finish.

Sampson hangs at full reach and does not take his oar out cleanly.

Blake cuts off his reach, is late getting his oar into the water and does not swing on enough with his shoulders.

The crew as a whole has a tendency to feather under water and to be slow on the shoot and the beginning of the recover.
