ITHACA, N. Y., February 17.- This afternoon Captain Goodrich communicated to the Cornell Athletic Council a request that Yale be admitted to the Harvard-Cornell race on the Hudson.
Commodore Murdock of the Cornell Navy, Captain Spillman of the crew, and Professor Wheeler of Cornell expressed their approval of such action, and the Council voted unanimously to admit Yale.
A statement was, however, added to the effect that Cornell does not wish to desert Pennsylvania and Columbia, and that in return for the concession to Yale, Cornell hopes that Harvard and Yale will allow U. of P. and Columbia to row also.
Captain Goodrich was not able to answer this proposition definitely and he did not express any personal opinion encouraging such a plan.
