Dr. McConnell read prayers at the meeting of the St. Paul's Society last evening in 17 Grays. It was expected that Dr. Edward Abbott would give an address, but he was unable to be present.
The society has made arrangements to have a series of sermons at Christ Church on Sunday mornings during Lent. On each Sunday a different clergyman will preach. These men with the dates of their sermons are as follows:
March 7 (First Sunday in Lent).- Rt. Rev. H. C. Potter, of New York.
March 14.- Ven. John Cotton Brooke, of Springfield, Mass.
March 21.- Rev. G. W. Douglas, D. D., of Hartford, Conn.
March 28.- Very Rev. P. N. Meade, of Oswego, N. Y.
April 4.- Rev. J. O. S. Huntington, O. H. C.
