The Yale speakers selected in the final trial for the Harvard-Yale debate are H. W. Fisher '98, of New Haven; H. A. Jump, Divinity '99, of Albany, N. Y.; J. K. Clark '99, of Brooklyn, N. Y., and F. E. Richardson '98, of Lancaster, N. H. Three of these will constitute the team against the Harvard debaters; the team will not, however, be definitely selected until shortly before the debate. This is applying to debating the same principles that are used in selecting the members of athletic teams and of musical organizations.
H. W. Fisher won the Thacher prize of seventy-five dollars for the speaker in the academic department best able to meet the demands of intercollegiate debating.
