A full half hour of the 'Varsity football practice yesterday afternoon was devoted to practice of signals. After a little fumbling at the beginning, some very good work was done, Maguire being at quarter and Brown and Dibblee playing as halves.
A short game was then played with the second eleven, the halves being ten minutes each. Garrison played at quarter on the 'Varsity and put much snap into the game. He also did some good tackling. Haughton made one run of forty yards, having obtained the ball on the 'Varsity's five yard line. The game was closely contested at the beginning, the second eleven making several good gains through centre and right guard. Burden then braced up and for the rest of the game the 'Varsity made all the gains, scoring two touchdowns. Wadsworth and Lee of the second eleven, played a good game.
The feature of the afternoon was Bert Water's coaching. He got right into the game and watched all the men closely. Forbes and Mackie were also on the field. Of the men injured in Saturday's game, Cochrane was able to be out in the preliminary work, but Doucette did not put in an appearance.
