ITHACA, N. Y., Jan. 14, 1897.- Professor Benjamin I. Wheeler, the faculty member of Cornell's Athletic Council returned today from New York where he had a conference with the Columbia and U. of P. rowing authorities. No final arrangements for the races have been reached, because Cornell is not in a position to agree finally until she comes to an understanding with Harvard. Harvard has intimated that she would like to race Cornell separately, in which case the former would probably not go into a quadrangular race this year.
