Col. T. W. Higginson was the speaker yesterday at the ninth of the Sunday afternoon Cambridge Conferences on Ethics and Religion, held at 168 Brattle Street, his subject being, "A World Outside of Science: An Intuitional View of the Basis of Ethics."

As has already been announced, Professor C. H. Toy will speak on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 21, on "Ethics of the New Testament;" and Professor Royce will speak on "The Philosophical Interpretation of Evolution," on April 18.

Fourteen Supplementary Conferences, to be held on Wednesdays, at 4 p. m., have also been arranged. On Wednesday, Feb. 17, H. E. Cushman, of the Graduate School, will be the speaker; the subject will be. "Casuistry: A Study in Ethics." On April 7, Professor C. R. Lanman will speak on "The Practical Teachings of Buddha: Their Method and their Contents."

The fullowing Harvard professors and instructors belong to the society which holds the conferences: Dr. John Fiske, Professors K. Francke, A. Hall, W. James, C. R. Lanman, F. G. Peabody, F. W. Putnam, Josiah Royce, H. K. Schilling, C. H. Toy, J. H. Wright, E. Cummings; S. S. Curry, C. B. Davenport, C. A. Duniway, F. Russell; and Rev. R. S. Morison, Librarian of the Divinity Library.
