Yesterday afternoon the 'varsity baseball squad practised on Holmes Field for the first time this year. Before playing with the college nine the 'varsity practiced batting at the nets, under the supervision of J. Highlands, who coached the men in starting quickly after hitting the ball. Then a four-inning game was played, which the 'varsity won-9-1. Pote caught for the 'varsity and Scannell played first-base, otherwise the make-up was as usual until the last two innings, when Haughton and O'Malley went in as the battery.
