Yesterday afternoon the candidates for the Weld Boat Club crews rowed on the river in four-oared barges. The work was very light, each crew rowing about fifteen minutes. Youngman and Stevens did most of the coaching.
As the race for eight-oared crews in the New England Regatta is but one mile long, a light crew with a quick stroke will probably be developed.
