NEW HAVEN, June 4. - The match for the single finals in the New England tennis tournament between Chace of Yale, and Howland of New York, was finished here this afternoon. The rain stopped it yesterday, three sets had been played, Chace winning two and Howland one. Howland won two sets this afternoon, securing the contest. The complete score of the match: Howland beat Chase, 4-6, 6-3, 4-6, 9-7, 6-4.

Tomorrow Howland will meet Foote, the winner of last year's championship to determine the possession of the cup for another year.
