The Mandolin Club.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

At the trial of candidates for the Mandolin Club yesterday afternoon, only five men appeared. The talent shown was not of the best, and only one man was taken on, F. W. Johnston '97. P.S. Strauss '97 and S. W. Fordyce '98 were taken on at the first trial, Wednesday. It was intended to enlarge the club this year, but if the mandolin players in college have not sufficient interest to attend trials, the club will be seriously affected.

There are men in college who can play the mandolin well and it is hoped that at the next trial, which will take place shortly, those men will present themselves.
