AMHERST, MASS., March 5. - Amherst's, and probably all college records for total strength, were broken this afternoon by Henry W. Lane '95, of Keene, N. H. The figures are not yet made public, but Instructor R. F. Nelligan says that Lane's total was phenomenal and can be beaten by but few men in the world. Lane is an excellent gymnast but has never represented Amherst on an athletic team. He is one of the first four scholars in the senior class, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
