A meeting to organize a gymnastic association was held in the rooms of the Boston Athletic Association last night. Owing to a misunderstanding not all the associations in the vicinity of Boston were represented, but only the following: Boston Athletic Association, Technology Gymnastic Association, Brown Gymnastic Association, Christian Union, Roxbury Turnverein, and Harvard Gymnastic Association. W. F. Garcelon, F. W. Lord and Dr. D. A. Sargent were Harvard's representatives.
A temporary organization was affected, Dr. Sargent being chosen chairman, and W. F. Garcelon secretary. The chairman was authorized io appoint a committee of five to draw up a constitution for the association which is to be submitted at the next meeting when permanent officers are to be elected. No definite plan of action was decided upon.
