DEAR SIR: The class of Niney-Seven of Harvard University wish to express to you their deep sense of the loss they have suffered in the death of your son Henry duPont Irving.
His dignity, manliness and courage endeared him to us all. By his death his companions have lost a true friend and the class a loyal supporter. Although he has been taken from us his memory will be always dear.
