No Monument Rush at Williams.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In deference to the expressed wish of F. F. Thompson '56, of New York city, one of the college's greatest benefactors, there will be no cane or monument rush at Williams this year. The new senior society, the Gargoyle, took the initiative in doing away with the time-honored monument rush, when on Friday it voted to use its influence against the affair. Saturday the senior class held a meeting and voted to prevent the rush if possible. The junior class was also favorable to the scheme, and the lower classes will hardly venture to carry on the rush against the wishes of the faculty and upper classmen.

The students and faculty tendered the freshmen a reception in the gymnasium Saturday evening.
