Twenty-three men responded yesterday to Capt. Rice's call for candidates for the sophomore eleven. The men first practised punting, tackling, and breaking through and then lined up for two five minute halves. The following are the names of the candidates: Rice, F. Curtis, B. Curtis, Flint, Bumpus, Valentine, Woods, Flershem, Waters, Gibbs, K. Adams, Monks, Prescott, Davis, Tilden, Blanchard, Swann, Edwards, Gibbey, Wood, Marvin, Brine, Sanborn. The men are nearly all light, and before anything can be done more heavy men must come out.
