The 'varsity played good ball yesterday and won from the graduate team, 5 to 1. Ames was tried in the box and did very well. Winslow at third accepted all his chances besides getting two hits. McCarthy showed good judgment, both in the field and at the bat, and Paine and Whittemore did some good hitting. Altogether the showing of the nine was very encouraging.
