Mr. E. C. Storrow '89, captain of the '88 'Varsity crew, has been appointed head coach of the Freshman crew, and took charge for the first time yesterday. The candidates have now been divided into five squads, instead of thirteen as formerly arranged with reference to their lecture hours. Each squad is under the especial charge of one of the following 'Varsity oarsmen: J. H. Perkins, J. F. Perkins, Adams, Bull and Marvin. Several other men are assisting.

Originally there were about 160 candidates but the numbers have now fallen off somewhat. The work consists of about fifteen minutes rowing, ten minutes exercise, and about seven laps on the board track.
