Harvard Teachers' Association.

The Harvard Teachers' Association will hold a meeting on Saturday, March 11, in Sever 11. For the benefit of students who do not know what the Association is, but who may be interested in it, we give a brief account of its history and its present purpose.

The Association was founded a little more than a year ago. It is composed of officers and graduates of Harvard University, and of persons who have been students at the University either in term time or in the Summer Schools, and who are now teaching or intend to be teachers. Its object is to promote the development of the study of Education and Teaching at Harvard University, to promote the professional advancement of the members of the Association, and especially to promote the free interchange of thought upon education questions among the teachers whom the University has sent forth.

The officers of the association are, President, N. S. Shaler, Cambridge; Vice-President, Walter R. Marsh, Exeter, N. H.; Secretary, Paul H. Hanus, Cambridge. The programme for the 11th will be as follows:

"Electives in Elementary Education." - Principal Edward J. Goodwin, Newtonville, Mass.

The discussion will be led by Superintendent C. E. Meleney, Somerville, Mass., and Principal Charles C. Ramsay, Durfee High School, Fall River, Mass.

"The Study and Teaching of English." - Professor J. A. Tufts, Phillips Academy, Exeter, N. H.

The discussion will be led by Professor George L. Kittredge, Harvard University, and Professor G. B. Carpenter, Mass. Institute of Technology, Boston.

"The Correlation of Studies in Elementary Education." - President Charles De Garmo, Swarthmore College, Pennsylvania.

The discussion will be led by Superintendent S. T. Dutton, Brookline, Mass., and Mr. George H. Martin, Supervisor Boston Schools.
