On Tuesday morning Dr. Bancroft announced the changes which have been made in the rules governing the athletic contests between Andover and Exeter. The changes made by the representatives of the two faculties are as follows: the referees and umpires must be appointed by the student organizations, at least, five weeks before the games are to take place, or the faculties will make such appointments.
The value of points has been changed from 5, 3 and 1 for first, second and third places to 5, 2 and 1, This is done that the count may be the same as that used by the colleges. Another important rule is that neither school shall employ a professional trainer for any of the games. The rule that will meet with the heartiest approval is that the entire schools will hereafter be allowed to attend the tennis and athletic tournaments as they have the baseball and football games.
