The eleven from Hopkinson's School defeated the freshman team on Norton's Field yesterday afternoon by a score of 10 to 0. Two fifteen minute halves were played.

Ninety-seven started with the ball, but after short gains lost it on a poor kick. This they repeated after Hopkinson's had failed to gain: and in a scrimmage which followed, Nourse broke away and scored a touchdown, from which the goal was kicked. The touchdown in the second half was made on Brooks' long run around the end from near the center of the field. No goal.

Ninety-seven did not hold their opponents well, though there was some improvement in this respect in the last half. The entire eleven is light, particularly behind the line; and there is as yet no marked skill to counteract the evil effect of this lack of weight. The team play decidedly needs careful attention.

The make up was as follows:

HARVARD. HOPKINSON'S

Rantoul, left end, Richardson.

Watson, left tackle, K. Adams.

Bowditch, left guard, Perkins.

Ladd, left guard, Perkins.

Connor, center, Hoague.

Gay, right end, Nourse.

Dean, quarterback, Bradley.

Pillsbury, halfback, A. Adams. H. Brooks.

Howe, halfback, A. Adams. H. Brooks.

Hughes, halfback, A. Adams. H. Brooks.

Irving, Capt., fullback, Sawyer.
