The Senior Crew.

The candidates for the '97 crew have now been in light training for about a week. The chances for a strong crew this year are encouraging, for not only are most of the old men out but there are also several promising new candidates; nevertheless it is hoped that any man who is interested in rowing will join the squad immediately after the mid-years when regular training will begin. The crew will row as nearly as possible the English stroke and will have one man at least in the boat who rowed in the trial races last autumn.

A shell has been rented from the Shawmut Rowing Club and is now being rigged over for the English stroke; it is almost a new boat, and should prove very satisfactory.

The debts of the crew are gradually being cut down, but what is especially needed if the crew is to be successful is the financial support of the class.
