Proposed Change in Manhattan Field.

There is a scheme on foot among several New York capitalists to merge Manhattan Field and the Polo Grounds into one large athletic field and exhibition ground. A fine new club house, costing in the neighborhood of $100,000 will be erected on the field. It is the intention of the projectors of this new scheme to hold the annual horse and cattle shows on it as well as the great athletic contests. This new plan will not injure the grounds in the slightest for base ball, foot ball or athletic purposes. The field is to be made the finest for athletics in the country.
