A mass meeting of the students of Columbia College was called on Thursday by the directors of the athletic association to find out the feeling of the undergraduates in regard to advisability of putting a crew on the water this spring. The chairman of the standing committee on Rowing, read the following resolutions which were carried with very little opposition.
WHEREAS, This committee cannot recommend the incurring of additional expense until the present debt of the athletic union is paid;
Resolved, That no crew be authorized to represent the university for 1892.
At the next meeting of the directors of the athletic association the matter will be discussed and finally decided, and in all probability the recommendation of the undergraduates will be followed.
