New Athletic Field for the University of Pennsylvania.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University of Pennsylvania has been given a piece of land 529 ft. long and 443 ft. wide, by the trustees, to be used as an athletic field. The grounds are conveniently situated near the college buildings and the new gymnasium which is to be built next summer will be only a short distance off. As it will take a large amount of grading to put the field in a suitable condition, work has already been begun on it. A third of a mile running track will be laid out, inside of which will be two football fields and two base ball diamonds. There will also be a cricket crease. In order to save space no building larger than a club house will be built.

The grounds will probably be ready for use next fall.
