Harvard defeated Dartmouth yesterday afternoon in an interesting game, The first half was close and well played by both elevens; in the second half Harvard forced Dartmouth over the field easily and ran the score up to large figures.

The game began with Harvard in possession of the ball. Lake gained 15 yards, and Corbett and Upton 7 yards each. Then the ball was forced along by short rushes until it was within 7 yards of Dartmouth's line; here it was given to Upton who made a pretty run and scored the first touch down three minutes after play began; no goal. Score 4-0.

Harvard kept the ball within the 25 yard line, and Trafford twice tried for easy goals from the field, but missed them both. Dartmouth then made a good gain through Norton's running; immediately afterwards Scruton fumbled the ball and Cranston secured it. It was given to Fearing who advanced it fifteen yards; Corbett took it next and by a beautiful run of 25 yards around the left end scored the second touch down; goal. Score 10-0.

Dartmouth was steadily forced back although fighting stubbornly; at last Harvard had worked the ball down to within 5 yards of the goal. Here Dartmouth rallied and secured it on four downs; it availed them little for Upton broke through the line and forced Norton to make a safety. Score 12-0.

Dartmouth could not advance the ball when it was put in play; Norton was forced to kick, and the ball went to Harvard. It was quickly brought down to near the line, and Upton made the last 7 yards necessary for a touch down; goal. Score 18-0.

The play from this until the close of the half was in Dartmouth's territory, but Harvard failed to score.

Western took Scruton's place at left half-back in the second half. Dartmouth began stiffly and for several minutes kept the ball near the middle of the field. Lee took Lake's place a few minutes after the half began. Harvard was forced to kick twice, but each time Hallowell followed the ball well and secured it. The third time Trafford tried for a goal from the field, and kicked a very pretty one from the 27 yard line. Score 23-0.

Soon after the ball was put in play Little was disqualified for rough play. Harvard had secured the ball and Lee and Fearing made a very pretty combination rush of 35 yards which enabled the latter to score a touch down; no goal. Score 27-0.

Norton kicked the ball when it was put in play and Trafford secured it. Lee rushed 20 yards. Segur was hurt in tackling him and compelled to leave the field. Captain Lakeman had no substitute to take his place, so Shaw went in. Lee and Hallowell gained 20 yards by a combination rush, and Upton ran another 20 yards through the line, scoring a touch down; no goal. Score 31-0.

Norton kicked again; the ball was returned to Corbett and secured by Heard at Dartmouth's 25 yard line. A minute later Lee had scored another touch down; no goal. Score 35-0.

Again Norton punted the ball away down the field, but it was returned by Trafford and secured by Fearing. Trafford tried for another goal from the field and secured it. Score 40-0.

It was now only a question how rapidly Harvard could score touch downs. Lee secured the first after a pretty run of 22 yards; goal. Score 46-0.

There was an exchange of punts by the full-backs; then Newell secured the ball and another touch down; no goal. Score 50-0.

Lee made another run of 25 yards and scored again; no goal. Score 54-0. He was hurt a minute later and Sherwin took his place. He immediately distinguished himself by scoring after a 20 yard run; no goal, but Fearing dropped on the ball and scored the last touch down, from which a goal was kicked, making the final score 64-9.
