Exeter-Andover Game.

The annual base ball game between the Exeter and Andover nines which took place at Exeter last Saturday resulted in a victory for Andover by a score of 7 to 1.

Up to the eighth inning the game was really a pitchers' battle and Turner proved far the more effective, although Howe pitched a very good game. Had he been as well supported as Turner was the result might have been very different, as three of Andover's hits ought to have been stopped by the Exeter infielders. The general play of the two nines was good and the Andovers really deserved the victory as they outfielded and outbatted the Exeter boys. The batting of both nines was very light, Exeter getting only two hits and Andover five. The features of Exeter's game were the fly catches by Howe and Phelan, and the double play by Brown, Farrel and Lighthall. For Andover the battery work of Turner and Murphy was exceedingly good, and the double play by Jennings, Rustin and Ketchum deprived Exeter of her best chance of scoring as there were two men on base and only one out.
