The Y. M. C. A. also took action by the following resolutions:
We, members of the Young Men's Christian Association of Harvard University, desire to express our great sorrow at the loss of a friend and fellow member.
Although out a few months among us, Adelbert Shaw had drawn to himself a wide circle of friends. We, who know him best, loved him more and more as we learned to know his noble character. Strong in his aims and pure in his life, we mourn him as a brother. In our meetings, his earnest words and simple prayer of faith impressed us all as the deep feeling of one who walked with God. We are
Resolved, That in his untimely death we have lost one of out noolest, members and truest workers. We are finally
Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be sent to his bereaved parents. We can only hope that our heartfelt sorrow with them in their deep affliction will soften a little their great grief.
Signed for the Association,
PERLEY L. HORNE, Pres.LEWIS K. MORSE, Cor. Sec.
