A meeting of the Chess and Whist Club was held last evening, at its rooms in the old Hasty Pudding building. The annual election of officers took place with the following result: President, S. W. Sturgis, '90; vice-president, R. C. Harrison, '90; secretary. F. W. Burlingham, '91; treasurer, Otis Everett, '91. It was intended to lay before the Club an amendment to the constitution, by which the election of new members should be placed in the hands of the executive committee, instead of by general vote of the club, as at present. But unfortunately only about twenty men were present, while twenty five are required to change the constitution, so that the matter had to be postponed.
