Tech. defeated Amherst on Saturday, by a score of 80 to 0. Holden played a superb game for the Techs.

The score of games in the Northern Inter-collegiate league is as follows: Technology, won 5, lost 1; Williams, won 5, lost 1; Tufts, won 2, lost 4, Amherst, lost 6. Tech. will play the tie with Williams on Wednesday at Springfield.

Prof. Dunbar will meet the section in Pol. Econ. 2 at the usual hour to-day, but will be obliged to give a cut in Pol Econ. 4.

Yale has won during the year 1885 the inter-collegiate tennis championship alone. The "triple crown" has been divided between Harvard and Princeton.

Mr. R. C. Rogers, L. S., has been elected an honory member of the Hasty Pudding Club, and Messrs. H. Pope and C. G. H. Stevens have been elected regular members.

The Yale captain deserves great credit for the strong fight he made against Princeton on Saturday; he developed a very creditable team from almost raw material.

The game between '87 and '89 which was to have been played on Saturday has been indefintely postponed by mutual consent. It will probably not be played if '88 beats '86 to-day.

Dr. Wheeler of Providence, R. I. will take Dr. Francke's courses in German after Dec. 1. Dr. Wheeler has been in Germany five years, and is a graduate of the University of Heidelburg.

Phillips Brooks preached last evening in Appleton Chapel on "Am I my brother's keeper?" The sermon was an earnest and powerful protest against "indifference," and closed with a strong plea to the students of Harvard.
