Steps are being taken towards the organization of a new baseball league, to include the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, Columbia, Lafayette and Williams. A meeting will be held in Philadelphia on January 25 to discuss plans, at which the colleges mentioned above will be represented. Cornell, Lafayette and Pennsylvania have already declared their intention of joining, and it is possible that Columbia and Williams will also answer favorably. A league between these colleges would occasion a great struggle for the championship, as hitherto their nines have been very evenly matched.
