The anniversary exercises of St. Paul's School were held Wednesday. In the afternoon a cricket match was played between the school eleven and a team made up of graduates. Exercises were held in the new chapel at 11.30, at which Samuel Eliot, LL.D., of Boston, delivered the address. In the afternoon, the second field meeting was held, in which three school records were broken. The events and winners were: Throwing the hammer, won by J. M. Fiske. Distance 78 ft. 10 in.; second, J. McFerridy, 73 ft. 10 in.; third, J. S. Black, 72 feet 11 1-2 inches-all breaking the record. Senior half-mile run for the Gardiner challenge cup, won by M. K. Quordon; time 2.14 4-5. Senior running high jump, won by H. W. Thornton, 5 ft. 1-4 inch. Junior 100 yards' dash, won by Swane, jr.; time, 10.3-5, breaking the record. Standing broad jump, won by H. S. Lyman, 9 ft. 5 1-2 in. Senior 100 yards dash for the Van Rennsselaer-Westervelt challenge cup-First heat won by H. A. Carey, time 11 1-5. Hurdle race (120 yards, 10 flights, height 3 ft. 6 in.) for the Robbins challenge cup Won by R. I. Crawford in 0.21. Junior quarter-mile run-Won by G. M. Laughlin in 0.58 1-5, breaking record. Senior 220 yards dash for the Stevens challenge cup-Won by H. A. Carey in 0.24 2-5. Final heat of 100 yards won by H. A. Cary in 0.10 4 5.

The officers of St. Paul's School Athletic Association are-President, Jeremiah S. Black; vice-president, Ernest Ryler; field marshall, Chapman H. Hymans; secretary, Newcomb B. Cole; treasuer, Harry S. Lyman.

In the evening the anniversary exercises were continued by a public meeting of the alumni, Richard H. Dana, the president of the Association, presiding. A poem was read by Rev. Alexander McKay Smith, of York, and on oration, "Athletics in our schools and college," was delivered by Sherman Evarts of New York.
