Yesterday afternoon Eighty-eight and Eighty nine played the third game in the class championship series on Jarvis. Although the score was very close, the game was very uninteresting owing to the tedious length to which it was drawn out. The game was called at the end of the eighth innings on account of darkness. Eighty-nine played very loosely at first, and in the second innings Eighty-eight made seven runs on four hits. After that Eighty-nine played much steadier and by their timely hitting won the game. Downer and Thayer each made a home run, and Palmer, Austin and McPherson also batted strongly. Both pitchers were effective in striking out men. The score:
