Denied Winter Campus Housing, International Students Scramble to Find Alternative Options
The faculty of Dartmouth have just adopted a new system of rules in regard to the government of the students. This system is modeled to a great extent after the one now in use at Harvard, but the details have not yet been fully worked out. The principal change is in regard to the manner of making out the reports of the students. At present, each student is given his rank and position in the class according to a marking system. After this term. however, the classes will be divided into groups according to rank.
The college is very enthusiastic over the splendid work of the foot-ball team, and it is expected that Dartmouth will win the championship pennant.
She has won the games from Williams and Technology, the two teams in the league which were considered her strongest rivals, and it is thought the pennant is almost won. The Tech. men were very confident of winning, but a score of 30-0 against them changed their opinion of our football prowess. Williams was still more confident, but fared scarcely better, being beaten by a score of 36-0.
Sufficient money has been obtained for the erection of the base-ball building, and work upon it has begun. It will be finished by the first of the winter term, and will be put in immediate use.
Mr. Willis Clark, of Boston, has been engaged by the college to give the students instruction in music. One evening in every week will be devoted to this purpose, and the plan promises to result very successfully.
