Yale Class Crews.

The following is taken from the last issue of the News, March 31:

"The class crews have now been on the water nearly every day for the last two weeks, and, from their work during that time, a rough estimate of their several chances in the coming spring regatta may not be out of place.

The junior crew is sadly demoralized. They have about eight men in training, five of whom are totally without experience. The whole crew seem to train without much spirit, although they go out on the harbor regularly every afternoon.

The sophomores have all their old crew, with one exception, in training, and also several very promising candidates, who, although they have not rowed before, are making the competition for places in the boat very sharp. The work done by the crew thus far is very encouraging, and a good showing is expected from them in the race.

The freshmen commenced with over twenty candidates, who have been reduced to ten or a dozen of the most promising men. They row in fairly good form, considering their inexperience.

None of the men have used the slides yet, but run to and from the boat-house to exercise their lege."
