A candidate who has not passed a preliminary examination may postpone any six or less subjects until September. He cannot, however, be examined in September upon any subject in which he failed in July. In applying this rule, Trigonometry, Solid Geometry, Chemistry, Botany, and Elective Physics count each as one and one-half subjects.
