MEETING OF THE BOARD OF OVERSEERS.

At a special meeting of the board of overseers of Harvard College, held yesterday at No. 70 Water street, Boston, the following appointments, made at previous meetings of the president and fellows, were confirmed: George H. Palmer, A. M., as Professor of Philosophy; James B. Greenough, A. B., as Professor of Latin; Clement L. Smith, A. M., as Professor of Latin; Charles A. Brackett, D. M. D., as Professor of Dental Pathology and Therapeutics; Arthur Searle, A. M., as Assistant Professor of Astronomy for five years, from June 1, 1883; and James L. Laughlin, Ph. D., as Assistant Professor of Political Economy for five years, from September 1, 1883. The meeting adjourned to May 31.
