At the Williams College athletic sports Thursday afternoon, the records were won as follows: Running broad jump, Winslow, '85, 18 feet, 9 1/2 inches; throwing hammer, Goodrich, '85, 93 feet; putting shot, 24 pounds, Goodrich, '85, 30 feet; running high jump, Harrison, '86, 4 feet, 11 inches; kicking foot-ball, Spofford, '85, 127 feet, 4 inches; five-mile go-as-you-please, Ferris, '85, 33 minutes, 34 1/2 seconds; throwing ball, Corse, '86, 366 feet; 100 yards dash, Hubbell, '85, 11 seconds; one-mile walk, Rogers, '84, 9 minutes, 14 3/4 seconds; half-mile run, Yates, '85, 2 minutes, 32 seconds; 220 yards dash, Hubbell, '85, 25 1/2 seconds; bicycle half-mile race, Ames, '85, 1 minute, 40 1/2 seconds; three-legged race, Hubbard and Rogers, '83, 56 yards, 7 seconds; 120 yards dash, Winslow, '85, 13 3/4 seconds; 1/4 mile run, Hubbell, '84, 1 minute, 1 second; mile run, Clark, '84, 5 minutes, 22 seconds. The soph-fresh race pull was won by the sophomores.

The following were the winning records in the Yale athletic games Thursday afternoon: 100-yard dash, 11 1/4 sec., by Robinson, '85; half-mile run, 2 m. 8 3/4 sec., by Kerlsham, '84, Scientific; bicycle race, 7 m. 25 3/4 sec., by Hamilton, '86; 440-yard dash, 53 1/2 sec., by Smith, '83; 220-yard dash, 26 7/8 sec., by Reynolds, '84; putting the shot, 33 ft. 6 3/4 in., by J. H. Briggs. '85; throwing the hammer, 68 ft. 11 in., by Porter, '84; foot-ball kick, 157 ft. 2 in., by Terry, '85; throwing base-ball, 323 ft., by Newell, '83; Scientific; broad jump, 17 ft. 3 in., by Smith, '83; high jump, 17 ft. 3 in., by Smith, '83; high jump, 5 ft. 3 1/4 in., by Dodge, '85. Lawn tennis was tied by three. The tug-of-war was won by the class of '85.

At 10 A. M. today, the board of officers of the League of American Wheelmen, representing a membership of over 3,000 active wheelmen, will meet at Hotel Vendome. At 2 P. M. the one mile championship race takes place at Beacon Park, followed by a five mile race for a silver cup, offered by the publishers of the Bicycling World. On Saturday the officers will join the Massachusetts members of the league in an all-day run to Sharon and return under Chief Consul F. S. Pratt of Worcester.

Playing foot-ball by electric light has been tried in London without success. The players throw themselves by kicking at the shadows of other players' heads.

The Yale Lacrosse Team will enter in the contest for the Oelrich cup, on the New York Polo Grounds, on the 28th inst.

It is claimed that Haley of San Francisco ran the 100 yards dash in nine and four-fifth seconds recently.

It is proposed at Yale to employ a regular trainer (professional we presume) for the Athletic Association.

Richmond, a graduate of Brown in the class of '80, has been engaged for the Providence team next year.
