Garber Privately Tells Faculty That Harvard Must Rethink Messaging After GOP Victory
After three periods of fast hockey ending in a tie score the University seconds and the Browne and Nichols sextet were both forced to leave the ice without the satisfaction of victory. The customary overtime periods were not played because the late hour did not permit the Arena management to extend the time.
Early in the first period the Crimson forwards penetrated to the Browne and Nichols goal and scored. After this sudden attack Neal, the Goalguard for the schoolboys, tightened up his work at the cage and did not permit any further Crimson scoring.
His teammates also showed a reversal of form and played almost unbeatable hockey for the rest of the game. Late in the second period they penetrated the second's defense and tied the score. The third period was a deadlock, both teams making strong efforts to score in spite of their exhaustion. The game ended in the disheartening tie.
For the University the work of Pierson, at right wing, was the most outstanding feature of the play, while Cross, at left wing for Browne and Nichols, played a consistently aggressive game.
