WATER SHORTAGE HALTS OPENING OF BAKER RINK

Will Not be Ready Before Christmas--Final Drive Among Undergraduates Meets Favorable Response--Opening Ceremonies to be Tribute to Baker

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

PRINCETON, N. J., December 1.--Owing to a shortage in the water supply, the Baker Memorial Rink, which was to have been opened here today, will not be opened until after Christmas. Plans for a fancy skating exhibition and speeches have therefore been abandoned for the present.

The final-drive held among the undergraduates this week for the completion of the rink fund met with great success.

The opening ceremonies, when they are held, will be marked by a tribute to Hobey Baker, famous Princeton athlete who was killed five years ago in France. Mr. Percy R. Pyne, Chairman of the Fund Committee will officiate, and will formally present the Memorial to Princeton University.
